The payments requirement was the only win Epic got in its case against Apple. Apple now allows external purchase links, with a bunch of requirements and restrictions.

Tim Houston has called a snap election to be held Nov. 26.

The Progressive Conservative leader is trying to win a second term, despite legislation he personally introduced three years ago that gave Nova Scotia a fixed election date of July 15, 2025.

Somehow governments keep making fixed election date laws that the government is free to ignore.

The ribbon was introduced in Office 2007. The backsliding started a long time ago.

There were Republicans who spoke at the convention last week. She probably means Republicans like them, not MAGA ones.

I've seen suggestions that the AI Overview is based on the top search results for the query, so the terrible answers may be more to do with Google Search just being bad than any issue with their AI. The AI Overview just makes things a bit worse by removing the context, so you can't see the glue on pizza suggestion was a joke on reddit or it was The Onion suggesting eating rocks.

If the network had a problem with the plans for season 2 being too dependent on older stuff it's odd that season 3 still managed to be so dependent on older stuff, considering the seasons were apparently filmed back-to-back. Did the network folks give their notes on season 2 and then stop paying attention?

The headline isn't clear, it's actually one fee; the ad tier doesn't have Dolby and the ad-free tier does.

Not sure there's much reason for Meta to cave: Meta's Canada news ban fails to dent Facebook usage

Daily active users of Facebook and time spent on the app in Canada have stayed roughly unchanged since parent company Meta started blocking news there at the start of August, according to data shared by Similarweb, a digital analytics company that tracks traffic on websites and apps, at Reuters' request.

Another analytics firm, Data.ai, likewise told Reuters that its data was not showing any meaningful change to usage of the platform in Canada in August.

Doesn't seem like news was providing Meta much value.

Fine, maybe I misinterpreted why people think it's OK to shoot at people for knocking on their door or pulling into the wrong driveway. I still don't want to go to places where people are likely to do that.
