This error is a rate limit from the object storage provider. I did not know of this limit when I chose them, and I still have not found a way to change the limit. I will send them an e-mail. If the limit can't be increased, one option is to pick another object storage provider, but the migration takes days.

In the case of tempeh keeping the right ambient temperature (~30) and adding a bit of vinegar to the beans is the best way I have experienced to make it grow fast and healthy. The CO2 I only measure to check for stale air. The tempeh fungus breathes in oxygen and exhales CO2, and if you have a lot of tempeh in a small incubator the CO2 can get too high.

In some techniques for mushroom growing, the mycelium is grown inside of a tub. The fungus exhales CO2 into the closed tub and inhibits this high CO2 condition inhibits fruiting. The fruiting stage can be stimulated by using a fan to push out the CO2. In the case of tempeh one can surround the tempeh with fresh air to stimulate the tempeh to produce spores, which can then be ground with white rice to create a powder to inoculate a lot more tempeh.

As someone who grew up in the tropics and now lives somewhere colder, I went through the first three table entries thinking that this was Celsius and felt understood.

Woah - I had never heard of the Hatzegopteryx. I spent some time today watching videos of this guy today (and its relatives, Quetzalcoatlus and Argentinosaurus). They are really cool.

I know that there is a lot of arguments about what dinosaurs actually looked like - I hope that in the videos they make these guys scarier than they actually were... This video is especially: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pYniD_MQ7Rg

Personally, this style (from a great PBS Eons video) is my favorite interpretation:

And artists apparently like to emphasize that these guys could eat small dinosaurs!

Almost all countries require official authentication to activate a SIM card.

Fortunately not in the Netherlands. I don't think that's the case in the rest of the EU. I can use free sim cards as much as I want!

When communicating with cell towers, a phone will also broadcast its unique IMEI identifier. So, even if you swap the SIM card every day, your IMEI is still being broadcast the same.

Changing the IMEI of a phone in the EU is illegal, unless the manufacturer consents: https://www.legislation.gov.uk/ukpga/2002/31/section/1

So... I have a Chinese 4G mobile router, and the manufacturer gives me the permission to change the IMEI as it is an integrated feature of the device. I use that for my data. The data codes I purchase small quantities in bulk with cash, and I can access the router via its ip from my phone's browser to send the SMS messages to activate the data codes as needed. Since WiFi connections are abundant around here I keep these codes for emergencies. I can go a few months some time without activating data codes. I mostly use them when traveling internationally.

For example I can go up to someone and insult them for all sorts of things - “you’re an ugly stupid worthless piece of trash” and that’s ok but I say “you’re a dirty [racial slur]” all of a sudden it’s different?

If it makes you feel any better, telling someone "you’re an ugly stupid worthless piece of trash" would get you banned from my instance too, so it is not so different.

Thank you for making this open source!

Revolutionary. This result needs to be spread far and wide.

I have been running an instance without a slur filter for about a year and a half. It is not a big instance, but big enough to have some experience in the field.

In case you are curious, 100% of the many times that I have encountered the n-word in my instance it has been in the context of a very banable offense, and it often requires spending some effort investigating and purging images from the database. The slur filter would block many these federated posts and comments from reaching my instance without the troll/spammer getting any feedback about this.

The filter can be a useful practical tool. The reason I keep it off is because I'm stubborn about not policing the words that people can and can't say. But when I consider what I have experienced and reflect about this, I become more and more skeptical about my choice. The problem is still manageable for my small instance, so I can keep the slur filter off. But I can see that when dealing with this problem at a much larger scale one would want to use any tool at their disposal to make the job easier.

I'm in! Let's build them!

Considering the context in which I'm encountering the term "UAP", and the Wiki page I get to if I look up "unidentified aerial phenomena", I worry their mission to get away from the automatic link to extraterrestrials may not be very successful!

I have experienced these 'blips' in the past and was deeply troubled by them, as I thought that they could indicate something serious going on.

While I don't suggest anyone to disregard any symptom that they consider to be potentially serious (read as: consult your doctor if you suspect something could be wrong), I have noticed throughout my life many different types of 'glitches' such as this one that turn out to be benign and common.

To me, learning about these effects is a form of applied psychology in the sense that understanding that these feelings are normal and usually benign can help prevent health anxiety.
