Yeah, I found out only after choosing that domain name... This TLD also gets penalized by the automatic e-mail spam detectors (like SpamAssassin). I wouldn't pick the ".xyz" TLD if I were picking today 😅

Thanks! I will look into those! Quite exciting :D

I have foraged and eaten some stinging nettle, but I didn't know it was good for making tea!

Is there a trick to making elderflower tea? The crushed leaves of elder have a very characteristic strong smell that I don't find so pleasant - will the flower tea taste like that?

The blackberry and wild strawberry teas are made from the fruit? Or can tea be brewed from the leaves?

The Wiki page has a lot of very interesting information about its ethnomedical and culinary uses.

A very cool detail is the mention of a blue oil produced from the related Tanacetum annuum. That oil contains a blue molecule called chamazulene.

I agree!

The Wiki page points out that:

The younger leaves of Chenopodium giganteum are hairy with a magenta colour and the older become green.

But it doesn't go into what the pigment is, or why they might do this...

[-] Sal@mander.xyz 3 points 1 year ago

Interesting - so maybe these pigments showed up in response to strong light?

Woah - TIL about wheels!

Woah, that's new to me. And sounds very illegal. Are these reports credible?

EDIT: I found a discussion on the topic here, which presents some alternatives to explain why the comments appeared to be restored: https://kbin.social/m/RedditMigration/t/34112/Heads-up-Reddit-is-quietly-restoring-deleted-AND-overwritten-posts-and

I will give Reddit the benefit of the doubt because even though they are acting pretty badly, restoring user-deleted comments sounds to me like an even higher level of incompetence.
