This is going to happen in any prediction market whose events are opened and closed manually. Unless you can automatically halt trading when the condition is met (this is probably what people call an "AI-complete" problem), there will always be people who notice the condition is met before the event runner. The unfair trades will certainly be reversed if this is a prediction market worth even a little bit of its salt.

pretty rich of you to call others dumb then post idiotic shit like this.

[-] sinedpick@awful.systems 6 points 6 months ago

serious question, are you a bit slow?

[-] sinedpick@awful.systems 6 points 6 months ago

Their brains are so saturated with information that they naturally need to explore extreme viewpoints to feel stimulated.

[-] sinedpick@awful.systems 5 points 7 months ago

nah. they're dumb. sorry.

[-] sinedpick@awful.systems 5 points 7 months ago

Out of curiosity, can you post 1 (one) SINGLE right-wing meme that's funny?

bronze age shawty's substack really tries to emulate meaningful artistic analysis but falls flat on its face because it's obviously working backwards from a conclusion. Fascinating.

You have zero understanding of cause and effect or you are looking at this conflict through a pinhole. Stop supporting and lapping up the propaganda of genocidal settler-colonialists like an useful idiot. Learn history and have some morals.

ow fuck! my toe!

What happened with SBF will happen with an AI given a similar target, in terms of having misalignments that start out tolerable but steadily grow worse as capabilities increase and you face situations outside of the distribution, and things start to spiral to places very far than anything you ever would have intended.

Ah yes, one day someone will accidentally install the "I'm sorry, I can't let you do that Hal" plugin. Oops, I let the nuke launch AI override all of our control mechanisms, silly me!

I fucking hate x-risk people so much.

The problem is far worse than what any single billionaire can fix. Billions of dollars are being poured into renewable energy infrastructure. It's just that while this is happening, we're also emitting the same amount of CO2 as always. The only long-term resolution of this is de-growth.
