You're familiar with survivor bias, yeah?
Yeah, some of the bandwagonny replies I'm seeing in this thread do not make their posters sound like someone you'd want to spend your working life sat next to.
You don't have to show interest in the company to help the CEO get richer, but you should probably show an interest in the company because it's where you're going to be spending 1/3rd of your entire waking hours from now on, and you're going to have a fucking miserable time of it if you've already decided to mentally check out before you've even got to the interview. Have some self-respect.
Sure, I'm just bemoaning the fact that you've taken cloud hosting to be the default. It's as much a complaint about the world in general as anything specific to you. Good luck with it all.

The image of China as an uncreative, uneducated backwards nation of drones good only for assembling phones, hasn't been the reality for at least a decade.
A lot of people in the West don't realize this because to this day there's a vicious cycle of people only import cheap Chinese crap because China has a reputation for only making cheap crap because people only import the cheap crap. Sexism and racism seems like an obvious answer and one that it's easy to find evidence for the existence of. But if you break it down a bit further, sexists and racists vote Republican anyway.
Competence played a big part in Singapore's success. Lots of highly qualified people governing by pragmatism over ideology. Exact polar opposite of what we're seeing in the US.
Boggles my mind how all these people desperately trying to whip everyone into supporting the two-party system, just assume that third-party voters and non-voters automatically owe their vote to their party. The sheer vanity and arrogance of it.
When an influential group of powerful people make hate speech a part of their standard rhetoric, is EXACTLY when you MUST block it on your platform, not a signal that it's time to start letting it slide, you fucking pricks.
He could declare bankruptcy and be a billionaire again tomorrow.
And I don't say this out of any kind of admiration for him; just there's still enough moneyed rubes out there that he could set up a new company making plumbuses and it would hit unicorn status by the end of the day.
