One thing they didn’t mention but I’ve seen on the news before is that flood waters often contain carcinogenic/other polluting chemicals leeched from the ground, and other waste streams. How much of that gets left in people’s soil (or wells if they have a well system), or even in their house after rebuilding?

Ubuntu is great for works out of the box kind of tasks, I have it on an old MacBook Pro 2012. With a free Ubuntu pro account I can get security updates for 22.10 lts until 2032! It’s already starting to act its age so security updates but a frozen OS helps not further tax it as software gets more complex. Point being there’s a niche even if in most other cases I might prefer something different.

Counting the differences in cost (loan, gas, expected maintenance, insurance etc) it came out to where I would have to use the truck to haul something at least a very weekend possibly more to break even with a much newer car vs just renting a truck once or twice a year. Pickups are almost universally owned by people too stupid for middle school math imo.

We pay about $300 a month in premiums for healthcare policy provided by the employer. We’re limited to 4.2k out of pocket but nothing at all is covered but the annual physician before that (medications are seperate and always have at least a copay).

Good years it’s fine, but a few years ago I had a skin growth they scraped to test for cancer and got billed $2,000 after insurance’s “negotiated” price that took a nice chunk of savings to cover. I’d gladly switch to any other system than the one we have here in the US…

I think the point is network appliances but it seems mainly used by hobbyists from what I’ve seen.

They address concentrations varying among sites and comparative to urban areas. They also did other tests besides what you mentioned. Note:

IVOCs (C12 to C18) and SVOCs (C19 to C25) were uncharacteristically abundant relative to VOCs (Fig. 1E) and were observed around various facilities, as shown in selected flight samples in Fig. 2A (additional examples are available in figs. S6 and S7). The relative abundances and composition varied between and around facilities, with maxima ranging from C17 to C22 (Fig. 2A, figs. S8 and S9, and tables S5 and S6), which may suggest varying on-site sources and emissions pathways. There are stark differences in the observed concentrations when compared with that of urban areas.

Sonos is probably the easiest one as others have mentioned. A bunch of raspberry pi’s with pulseaudio configured for remote streaming from a master audio source could also work for playing the same song in multiple locations if you want a more diy approach

Same, though I developed an allergy to pistachios/sesame a while back that has saved me a good bit of money by now
