It's quite simple. Garbage in, garbage out. Data they use for training needs to be curated. How to curate the entire internet, I have no clue.

Is this what burnout looks like?

You can't hard link across docker volumes. In the second example, you need to remove the /media/movies and /media/downloads volumes, only keep /media.

After fixing this, only future downloads will be hard links. Use a deduplication tool like jdupes to create hard links for the already downloaded files.

PhotoRec and TestDisk are probably the best, but they don't recover file structure.

I read that like 5 times as satanic error.

And the bad part is that it is being forced upon us. You can't even find non-smart TVs to buy anymore.

I wouldn't be surprised if appliances come with their own data plan, because the data they collect is valuable.

Return to the office isn't about medicine, it's about entitled executives power tripping over the workers. At every medium/large company I worked for, upper management lived in its own bubble completely disconnected from the rest. I can give so many examples of poor decisions made by upper management that had a huge negative impact on the company and especially the workers. But regardless, they never gave a shit about our opinions and feedback. They didn't even tell us why they made those decisions.

Yes, I recommend checking the Wikipedia article: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Casualty_(person)

Give it time. It took 3 years of war for the 1917 revolution to start.

In terms of performance and flexibility, building your own is better. Depends on what you want out of it.

If all you want is an easy to setup NAS with no bells and whistles, get a synology. If you want to build a server that also has a NAS, if you want to be in control of the software, build your own.

You don't even need server hardware. I used an older desktop computer with an HBA card. It's also less noisy and much smaller.

I can't answer the first question, but developers and artists are expensive. Here is a quote I found online

As of 2020-12, CIG has a total of 695 staff. 512 of whom are developers. As of July 2023, 1100 CIG staff are working on Star Citizen, not counting third party ...

At an $100000/yr salary, a team of 1100 people will cost $110mil/year. That excludes other business costs or any third party company they may contract for various assets, for example music.
