Wow what a shock. Guess running a uni like a for profit business works like shit. Maybe the real problem not cited in this article is that the upper management are all worthless.

I think the idea is that it stops rich AF people using their super to store wealth by sitting on assets and instead forces them to use super to invest, which can actually help the economy.

When your face is that small, everything else looks much bigger.

The legislation does note that some services are “excluded”, but does not name specific platforms. For example, while services providing “online social interaction” would be included in the ban, this would not include “online business interaction”.

Looking forward to watching Facebook claim it's all a business interaction because they're selling the user data or something. Also surely this includes any and all online forums.

I convinced my partner to play it recently and the way I knew she'd finished it was that I could hear sniffling from the desk behind me.

Yeah but how are the cops supposed to access our data without a warrant or any form of notice?

$387 billion cost

You could get a whole new fleet of nuclear subs for that!

Literally every one of my indigenous friends and colleagues that I've spoken to are voting no,

Did you forget what you wrote?

2 points:

  1. Anyone can say they have indigenous friends or have spoken to indigenous people. In fact Peter Dutton has been doing that this whole time. This is a largely anonymous forum so there's no reason to believe anyone who says "ah yeah I spoke to a guy."
  2. We have polling on indigenous peoples opinions on the voice. The people we surround ourselves with or we encounter in our daily lives are an insignificant sample size and subject to selection bias.

It would be good if scientists stopped publishing in closed access journals

The thing is, publishing your article as open access generally requires you as the author to pay upwards of $2k USD. I think I've seen some that are around 4k.

That's just it though, they know it's divisive, that's the point. They don't care if they're lying they just hope their lies spread to enough people.

Indigenous issues are pretty complex imo, so writing people off who are getting confused by the flood of BS seems like a good way of losing the referendum.
