Other animals like the wheels too, and bees love balls for some reason. :D

Pretty much every mental diagnosis that exists is a case of something completely normal which presents in too extreme (or too muted) a fashion in the given individual. The criteria for diagnosis isn't just whether you experience X, but whether X has a significant negative impact on your life.

I'm almost positive this is my problem, but my local health system won't let me see a psychiatrist.

Maybe there's something I don't understand (I don't drink coffee at all), but coffee is antimicrobial and doesn't need to be kept out of the food safety danger zone. I should think it would take an extremely long time to grow pathogens.

Maybe if literacy were actually taught instead of being sabotaged by what I can only assume is a plot to increase the pool of incarcerated slave labor we could then move on to more advanced forms of literacy.

I can't read relatable shit like this while knowing they refuse to even test me. -_-

I don't really understand why everyone's telling you about torrents when you don't need them to watch movies. Like, it's nice if you want Blu Ray quality or have bad internet or something, but you don't need to download stuff unless you really want to. I just use uBlock Origin with Firefox and one of a few streaming sites. You can find a list here: https://wiki.dbzer0.com/piracy/megathread/movies-and-tv/ (Scroll down to streaming and try one out.) It works on mobile, too.

Sometimes you'll have to check multiple sites to find older, more obscure things, but for the most part they only really differ in their UI. Some anime sites even have options to skip the intro/outro and autoplay the next episode.

Gonna echo the disappointment that they've elected to copy Duolingo's translation model instead of a more immersive model like Rosetta Stone.

"I is middle country person," is a perfectly sensible translation in my brain, but Duolingo and its clones are obsessed with getting the particulars of English correct. The mindset of Mandarin grammar is exactly where I want to be, and the insistence on returning to English is very disruptive.

I think it matters in terms of psychological health. Internally thinking that an older teenager is attractive is a pretty normal thing that might happen to an allosexual human, whereas the same attraction for a younger teen or child is clear "get in therapy now before something bad happens" territory.

Please note that I have specified internal thoughts and not making gross conversation about how hot young people are and/or approaching them with sexual intentions.

But I agree that this is really not the context to bring up the difference.

I was suspicious about the idea that cops were getting called over popcorn, and wouldn't you know it, there's more context:

In another video with police involvement, embedded below, an officer says that a group "body slammed" a theater employee. (Theater employees are understandably not loving the situation.)

https://www.pcgamer.com/movies-tv/cops-called-as-a-minecraft-movie-sends-kids-into-chicken-jockey-frenzies/

At least one person has even brandished a live chicken in a theater at that moment.

Also the idea that large teenagers intentionally dumping whole buckets of popcorn is the same as what a six-year-old spills accidentally is just stupid on its face. If you think you're old enough to vape, you're old enough to not be an asshole.

While some recipes suggest DIY methods to “heat-treat” flour at home, such as baking it in the oven or microwaving it, these methods are inconsistent and may not effectively eliminate all pathogens, including Salmonella, which is particularly heat-resistant in low-moisture foods like flour.

https://wpcdn.web.wsu.edu/wp-labs/uploads/sites/1254/2024/01/FSM-Developing-Thermal-Control-of-Salmonella-in-Low-Moisture-Foods-Using-Predictive-Models-Clean-PDF-Version.pdf

To pasteurize wheat flour (e.g., in 5-lb bags) with different moisture contents (e.g., 11.6 percent and 14.5 percent) using an RF heating process (volumetric heating), the holding time required at a specific target temperature can be predicted by measuring or calculating the high-temperature water activities of the flour samples, and then determining their corresponding D-values for Salmonella. In this case, calculations indicate that the water activities at room temperature for the two batches of flour are 0.43 and 0.64, which would increase to 0.69 and 0.82, respectively, at 80°C. According to the equation shown in Figure 4, the D80 values of Salmonella at these water activity levels are 3.2 and 1.2 minutes, respectively. To achieve a 5-log reduction, the two flour batches must be held at 80 °C for 16 and 6 minutes, respectively.

I think the issue here is not that you can't pasteurize flour yourself, but that many DIY tutorials are dangerous and they should be regulated.

Also it takes a very long time to heat raw flour and it hardly seems worth the effort. Just make oat flour from rolled oats. You're eating the dough raw, so what do you need egg or gluten for in the first place?

Littering your yard with food attracts things like rats, raccoons, squirrels, etc, which destroy property and infrastructure, spread disease, and cause injury to people and pets. I'm not saying I'm against fruit trees, but I do understand people who are. It's a legitimate concern. Some areas even have things like boars or bears which are extremely dangerous.

I'm also curious with the way you can sue people in the US what would happen if someone becomes sick after eating one of your fruits. I imagine it varies by state.
