Do we still say username checks out?

I've always been able to vote within 10 min or less. Must vary a lot by location.

They assert that how people bet, whether on the benign (who will be the next James Bond?) or the consequential (will Israel and Hamas reach a cease-fire before the end of the year?), can help forecast the future. Because there’s money involved, the thinking goes, these prediction markets leverage the collective wisdom of what people actually think will occur, not what they hope will.

DJT stock ticker would like a word.

jk We all know the DJT stock is overvalued because of money laundering and selling access rather than "collective wisdom".

Wasn't speaking to your specific home value. I was adding to the point that every homeowner is not a millionaire.

If someone has a house worth $350,000 but they've only paid off $50,000 from the principal, then they aren't worth $350,000. I'd argue they're not even worth $300,000.

Miss a few payments, and they lose the house plus whatever payments they'd already made. That's not personal wealth. We're just living in the bank's house until it's paid off and the deed gets transferred.

Plus the bank owns any house with a mortgage. It's not your house until it's paid off. Can't be a millionaire with $400,000 in assets and $375,000 in debt.

I'm down with MeidasTouch. What's the cat for?

[-] tacosplease@lemmy.world 1 points 4 days ago

I don't believe them either. Just saying that's the lazy excuse they gave.

They say he was going off script for that part. But of course they would say that.

A homeless guy slept in public too many times, and the police decided to arrest him.

They handcuffed and chained him then drove fast and slammed the brakes on purpose with him in the back of the van. That broke his neck - paralyzing him from the neck down. Both legs needed to be amputated as well.

For falling asleep in a grass lot...

I was on reddit for 11 or 12 years. Commented several times a day. Voted 100 times or more per day. Left mid June and haven't been back once. Now I do that shit here instead.
