I’ve had many hundreds of hours of Minecraft these past few years but… What’s layer 4?

I’m no lab scientist but when I switched from a hackintosh to an M1 Mac mini a few years ago, my total electricity consumption went down by around 15-20%. This can mean a lot on the long run if you’re tight on budget.

What’s great about Mac minis is that they’re extremely power efficient since they’re ARM machines, so if you live somewhere like in Europe where power is expensive, it can save you a lot of money. They’re usually completely silent too.

Depending on their needs, I’d suggest OP to get a used M1 Mac mini, they’re great value for money.

Just buy used. You get all the goodies without supporting their shitty practices, while not even having to deal with the ethics of piracy. It’s all win.

To be fair I had an 8Gb M1 Mac mini for about a year and never even once felt like it was lacking memory. I could open as many things as I wanted and it didn’t slow down, so I can kinda see where they were going with this. Not saying it makes that situation much better though.

I think the current base iPhones with 4Gb or 6Gb suffer way more from lack of memory than the 8Gb Macs, and people aren’t taking about this enough.

Even in Europe, they’re not really popular. Plus Renault decided they won’t be making a next generation Twingo (which shares its platform with the current Smart car).

Always thought this was a really weird decision since it’s an extremely popular car here in France, but apparently it doesn’t make them enough money.

I think I’d rather listen to some custom AI generated music than the same royalty free music over and over again.

In both cases they’re just meant to be used in videos and stuff like that, you’re not supposed to actually listen to them.

Hi! Not sure if self promotion is allowed, but I wanted to share my plugin I just launched. It's called Debrandify and it allows you to completely remove, replace and control all the WordPress-related branding on your site.

This includes things like login logo, tab titles, admin footer, emails... You can either remove it entirely or replace it with your own texts and logos.

I also included some bonus features to make your WordPress site a little lighter.

You can download it on wordpress.org as any other plugin and check out the GitHub repository.

If you like it, please give it a review and comment on wordpress.org, it will help with SEO!

Thank you 🙏

I’m annoyed by all those Facebook-type boomer comics you see on basically all meme subs. Reddit culture managed to get rid of them, but for some reason people here seem to love them

Yeah, I feel like it’s one of the best current logos. It’s simplified but not oversimplified and it looks really good.

Hi! I have a USB hub I've been using for a few months. I have an M1 MacBook and it was plugged to it through a USB A to A cable and a USB A to C adapter, which worked perfectly.

I've been wanting to get rid of the adapter so I got a nice USB A to C cable instead (which can transfer data). The cable works perfectly with all the devices I've tried it with (hard drives, phones...) but won't work with the hub, and I have no idea why. I tried a bunch of other USB A to C cables and they won't work either. It only works when there's a USB A to A cable involved.

Here's a before and after of the setup if it helps: https://imgur.com/a/xUYt1Td

Tried to contact the hub's support but they won't reply. Any idea what could be going on?
