USDA captured by food industry lobbyists. This reminds of the bullshit nutrition food pyramids basically created by big business.

its always frightening to come across people who rationalize the mass killing of women and children. frightening to see the endorsement of racist policies and religious fanaticism. Israelis speak candidly to reporter about Palestinians.

This is heartwarming. I don't worry about them losing focus, and believe this is something bigger. These are roots that hopefully grow into a strong tree with many branches. We need to get younger folks into politics and positions of leadership. It's not as though they'll have a choice considering how badly the previous generations and their systems have created a grossly fractured and inequitable world with a planet on the brink. I suspect your downvotes might be from folks misunderstanding originalism.

"a legal philosophy that the words in documents and especially the U.S. Constitution should be interpreted as they were understood at the time they were written"

It's like religion stating everything we ever needed to know was written thousands of years ago and we should just apply it like we were living in those times.

Barrett is a self-proclaimed originalist, embracing a theory of the Constitution that is also shared by at least two other sitting justices: Justices Clarence Thomas and Neil Gorsuch.

Greed on Capitol Hill is not new and a huge problem. Big tech does need to get broken up. But are you trying to say TikTok and ByteDance and their backers are small corporations and mom and pop shops??

Scrutiny over ByteDance expanded further after the government took a 1% stake in its local subsidiary Beijing ByteDance Technology in 2019 that awarded the Chinese government a board seat at the subsidiary. https://www.inc.com/reuters/what-you-need-to-know-about-tiktoks-chinese-parent-company-bytedance.html

About 60% of ByteDance is owned by global institutional investors such as Carlyle Group, General Atlantic, and Susquehanna International Group,"

Wiki stuff:

Carlyle Group The Carlyle Group Inc. is a multinational private equity, alternative asset management and financial services corporation based in the United States with $376 billion of assets under management.

General Atlantic General Atlantic, legal main entity General Atlantic Service Company, L.P., is an American growth equity firm providing capital and strategic support for global growth companies, headquartered in New York, United States. The firm was founded in 1980 as the captive investment team for Atlantic Philanthropies, a philanthropic organization founded by Charles F. Feeney, the billionaire co-founder of Duty Free Shoppers Ltd.

Susquehanna International Group The firm invested $5 million into ByteDance, the parent company of TikTok, in 2012 when ByteDance was founded. As of 2020, its stake in ByteDance represented 15 percent of its fully-diluted capitalization table and was valued over $15 billion on paper.[9]

Metallica died after Cliff died, that dude was the heart of the band. If you read up on Burton you'll find musical crossover with Martin of the great Faith No More.

In addition to 'One', don't forget the great 'Disposable Heroes'. Totally sold out with the Black Album and thereafter.
