Not the best patent to use if you want to settle the debate. This one from Wheeler is the nail in the coffin: patent

It also shows why it was over and not under as at the time, the TP holder was a hanging wire, which kept the paper against the wall. Not protruding out like todays hangers.

It’s Bob. He’s got a budget of $200 a year. He does what he can. We like Bob.

We just don’t have the technology for that… sorry.

My friend worked at Best Buy corporate some ten years ago. He got the corporate discount at stores so we went to check it out. Most of the big name stuff had almost nothing. So their margins were pretty thin there (not to say those companies couldn’t sell their products for less just that BB wasn’t getting most of your cash).

But for their in-house stuff like anything Insignia, the cost of a $20 HDMI cable went to $4. And that was a discount so BB was still making something.

I’ve started to become super jaded about discounts, especially at grocery stores because now I’m not looking at it like “wow I’m saving on eggs” but rather “so you’re probably overstocked and want me to bail you out or you’ll lose a shit on of profits if these go bad”.

Because the entire internet is one big Amazon link back. I’m not even joking. Ran DDG earlier on a dvd burner model and the first two pages were Amazon links. The next were other competing stores. WTF.

But I mean we gated it all behind like 3 companies. Can’t believe it didn’t turn out good.

I used to use thepiratebay.org, but recently it seems the quality of the site has degraded.

Recently??? 😏

I'm going to assume they didn't implement this because money. Their app runs on everything, from iOS to Android to Windows. Cost savings they likely just flipped camera permissions and didn't care about small edge cases like these.

With that said, Mullvad is a million times better, cheaper and doesn't require even an email or account creation to use. They created a system that effectively anonymizes the user before they even subscribe.

TT doesn’t steal your data. It weaponizes it, against you.

Banning isn’t the right way to go anyway. Controlling these companies, preventing them from harvesting and weaponizing your data is what needs to be looked at.

How are lawyers this inept.

The real question is why anyone would use Kodi/Plex/XBMC over Jellyfin

There exists a vast population of struggling young men who are easy marks when it comes to romance and sex. I mean 4chan exists. As does OF and to a lesser extent, Twitch. He’s just as much a predator of those men as he is young women.

Growing up online is seriously going to mess up the next generation.

What stop? They are going to get a fine of $5m euros. Wow. End of that dark pattern. /s

A bigger question is why Android even allows this. This is not possible on iOS and shouldn’t be possible to begin with.

Google is every bit responsible.
