I think at some point we might get better and better at simulating intelligence, and maybe even building actual intelligence in machines, but we can agree that LLMs is closer to your phone suggesting the next word than it is to your brain. If we ever get general AI it can't be based off LLMs so the current wave of speculation is little more than hype to drive profits up and distract from the problems that already arose.

Maybe they meant abandoned projects that never quite got through the todo list but you're right. Even my abandoned projects are generally better than the legacy I've seen lol

If Google wasn't directly incentivized to screw us over for infinite growth and profits I'd also believe them here, it won't stop here, they'll keep making it harder for us to control our own devices

In religious studies, daemon or daimon is used to refer to pre Christian supernatural beings as I said. There's a huge difference between beings that may or may not be evil vs demons who are generally regarded as evil by definition. Demons got their name from daimons, but they're not fully equivalent.

They were divine beings above humans and below gods, they're probably the main inspiration for both angels and demons in Christianity

They've been caught in the past slowing down old iPhones claiming it was to preserve battery health. I think claiming they definitely will do it is a bit much, but it seems plausible enough.

For Godot, there's a cool (web and desktop) app called Learn to code from Zero with GDScript. It's interactive and the stuff you learn there is fairly transferable to other languages.

Do you have a proprietary requirement that you can't handle on Linux? It works fine for me but also I'm not dependent on local proprietary tools to do my work so we may have a very different experience
