Yeah I understand that duplicates will pop up from different people, just found it weird that they would create 2 separate ones themselves. It's hard to find which one to join when both are similar levels of active and I don't love the idea of having to subscribe to both and go to both if I want to see what's being posted. I assumed it was unfamiliarity with how the instances worked but didn't think about seeing if kbin or lemmy would end up being more popular, that does makes sense.

Pyle is hilarious, I remember when he first started with those alien comics. His shit really fits my sense of humor lol

I was thinking the same thing, it's counterintuitive to the whole point of Lemmy lol

Don't get me wrong, apollo is great. And I am going back to android for other OS reasons, I just like it more. I used it my whole "smartphone life" but wanted to try out ios since I saw a deal on an iphone and don't use my phone a ton anymore (I used to install custom rims and just sitch devices in general all the time). I decided to switch back to Android after a little under a year with iOS for smaller reasons like customisability, the Google ecosystem all my shit is in, etc... But to answer your question, some of the things I love about relay that no other app does is the built in browser that functions by just swiping down the bar, I used it a lot to go back and forth between an article some content and the actual reddit comments, I also really like the aesthetic of how it separates posts and comments, the swipe gestures are pretty standard, probably some other things I can't remember but it's probably just a personal feel.

One of the few things I could never get over after switching to apple was losing out on relay. No offense to anyone that uses other apps on Android, part of the reason android is so great is the variety but relay to me was the best by far without any doubt. I used apollo on iOS and it's good, I'm actually switching back to Android right now because I I just prefer it to iOS so it doesn't matter anymore because I'm looking at Lemmy apps for Android mow, and I'll probably try out wefwef on Android since I like it on iphone but man once you put this out... I don't see how I could use anything else if this is even close to relay, that UI just speaks to me

I went to go see if there was any new info and just saw that as well, kind of encouraging to see it confirmed they will work with mastodon though

343 has never been good at managing a Halo game. Not sure what OP is referring to specifically but 343 has made tons of awful decisions with the franchise. One thing that always bothered me with infinite is from what I remember the game has an enormous amount of tech debt because Microsoft loves to hire temporary contract workers so by the time a new contractor was hired and brought up to speed on the new engine they were developing/had developed, they barely had time to do much before having to be replaced with another contractor, which makes me feel awful for the poor developers hired on these temp contracts.

I have absolutely no intention of using Threads (for obvious reasons: meta data collection), but I'm interested to see if it can push the fediverse into mainstream conversation. I basically only used twitter for sports news so if those reporters end up on Threads and I can follow them from Mastodon I wouldn't mind. Of course none of that matters if it's not on ActivityPub like it's rumored to be, or if they implement any kind of restrictions to users not on their instance, like following users or liking posts.

I've been trying out the same ones as you, haven't heard of wefwef so I'll give that a try. Although I think liftoff is my least favorite. Memmy seems to have the best performance for me. I also really like Thunder, definitely recommend trying that one out if you haven't
