96 DPI should be a choice, agreed. But it's a software issue when an app or a framework doesn't display well on HIDPI.

QL was our first game and although it was a big disappointment losing the source code it was lost at a time before we understood decompiler and auto-formatter software.

Fuck Android, I want Linux on my smartphone. With working alternatives for:

  • Banking apps
  • Google Pay
  • Google Maps (live traffic)
  • Android Auto
  • Google Cast

Only the EU can pull this off.

Edit: added banks.

Have they already backtracked in practice or just in PR?

[-] warmaster@lemmy.world 52 points 4 months ago

It's true. Here's a copy of their research paper:

Sure, here's what your research paper could look like:

Title: Unveiling a Novel Force: Propelling Beyond Gravitational Constraints

Abstract: This paper investigates a newly hypothesized force that enables propellant-less drives to defy gravity. Examining experimental anomalies and theoretical speculations, it explores potential mechanisms and applications, signaling a transformative leap in space exploration and transportation technology.

But as an AI model, I don't know shit and come up with bullshit out of my synthetic ass.

What a great way to sell their new Star Wars live service game.

Can confirm. It's our own Trump / Bolsonaro.

The fact that humanity needs the threat of nukes to maintain peace, says a lot of the disparity between the advancements of our technology and the limitations of our own primitive mentality.

I wish we were more like Star Fleet.

It's probably her trap

Krita has been adding photo manipulation tools faster than GIMP is fixing their UX/UI, so at this point I think Krita will be the first to become the most viable FOSS alternative to Photoshop.

[-] warmaster@lemmy.world 45 points 10 months ago

GIMP's UI is what's holding it back.

If it was remotely near inkscape's usability, it would be way more popular. The script that tries to make it look like Photoshop, shows GIMP's underlying limitations.

GIMP should go straight to phase 3.

Anyone tried this? Works perfectly for me. Any reason why I should go back to the OpenBoard fork with Swipe?

On Bottles with the default runner I always had the mouse focus glitch. On Steam Proton Experimental it works great! If you play on BNet, I suggest you switch to Steam.

I didn't want to editorialize the title, the linked article is an old post. But with the Nitrux 2.9.1 launch, I wanted to bring a bit of light into how VMetal works.

Short summary:

VMetal allows users to run Windows in parallel to Nitrux with the aim to provide users of access to Windows software meanwhile they can still use their Linux desktop at the same time.

VMetal is not a wrapper or a compatibility layer; it makes use of QEMU and KVM (Kernel-based Virtual Machine) on the software side and of VFIO and IOMMU on the hardware side, meaning that Windows is accessing directly the hardware that it utilizes.
