25 years ago, maybe.

Now, seeing protest after protest while the Trump administration does whatever it wants EVEN HARDER is like watching the opposing team in Air Bud wring their hands about the rulebook while a fucking golden retriever dunks on them over and over.

Peaceful protests are feeding demoralization and making things worse, not better.

For a lot of people, tweaking hardware and screwing with software is as much or more of a hobby than playing games.

I’ve got about a dozen retro handhelds that are loaded with the same games but they’re all configured and modded differently simply for the love of tinkering. The time I’ve spent fooling around under the hood vs playtime is easily 50:1. But like… that’s what I buy them for.

Americans: “we can’t. We might GET IN TROUBLE.”

What’s happening that isn’t easily ignored?

I’m talking mostly about the voters, not the party leaders.

But hey, if you don’t like the non-violent option, there’s always the other one.

And those are just the officials who have been caught by law enforcement.

I say, open season on the voters themselves as well- by everyone. Out them to their families, employers, religious groups- go wild.

If you insist on non-violence, why are we not seeing more cyberwarfare? Ransomware. MITM attacks. Social engineering. Catfishing. Expose the thousands of pedophiles in the GOP- politicians AND voters. Disrupt or intercept communication. Hit them financially. Protests are easily ignored. Cyberattacks aren’t.

Out-tech these guys. Outsmart them. Even the clever, crafty alt-right assholes at the end of the day aren’t PARTICULARLY bright. The “left” in the US, such as it is, is very much not living up to its self-proclaimed intelligence relative to the right.

Sounds like it’s time to try something that isn’t as easily ignored.

This is the part where Americans shirk responsibility by telling me “you first” and then telling me “then keep your mouth shut” when they hear I’m not from the states- which is 1) hilarious coming from Americans and 2) helps them to go on pretending someone else will come to save them.

Weird that I only ever hear about “Jerusalem crosses” from people trying not to look like neo-Nazis. Huh. Guess it’s like the apparently very well-known “Roman salute.”

I lived in the states for 3 years- in Florida, no less. I swear to you the only decent people I met in that entire state were Haitians.

“Tyranny” over the people doing nothing but handwringing. The majority could at least try to make it harder for them?
