My old boss who is now my bosses boss is like this. It's the best leader you can have IMHO. I don't want a yes man. I want someone to challenge my ideas and similarly I will challenge theirs.

Linux absolutely isn't perfect, no technology is. But in my years of experience with both, Linux on the whole is far less finicky, and far easier to fix when it breaks.

I agree 110% but it's also worth mentioning that windows isn't as finicky as we complain about. If it was, companies wouldn't by and large rely on it. People are delusional if they think Windows is only around because of some conspiracy or historical precedent. "It works" plain and simple. As you scale you're going to run into issues regardless of the OS. It's naive to think Linux is the be all that end all. As much as anyone I want to be Linux only. My home computers have been Linux for decades now. I'm a realist. There's value and challenges with every OS. I hate the industry trend of Windows over Linux but I get it

Losers are afraid of competition as another older white male the system is still heavily favouring us. People are mistaking equality with discrimination and it's so damn tone deaf.

That said even I bitch about it at time.

Seriously. In Canada too. Our countries are huge but even in populated areas like LA there are well documented food deserts.

When I write APIs I like to set endpoints to return all status codes this way no matter what you're doing you can always be confident you're getting the expected status code.

I know a lot of Africans. I question why any of them would want to move to America as opposed to Canada (where I am) and like me they don't understand when someone they know does make the decision to move south.

Yes the money is better but no one is going to care if you're from Zimbabwe. A black person is a black person is a black person down there and by and large America is hostile AF to black people.

For any android users like myself you may have been using Swish which was made by a reddit user but since the API bullshit the app still works for games but there's no live/post game thread access. I just submitted a request to see if we can get it integrated with Lemmy :)

User accounts are fragmented and just because you signed on at lemmy.world doesn't mean your account exists on lemmy.ca.

https://github.com/LemmyNet/lemmy/issues/1985

Communities are fragmented and /c/games on lemmy.world is completely different than the one on lemmy.ml with its own users, set of posts, etc.

Lemmy does not currently allow for instance or user migration.

https://github.com/LemmyNet/lemmy/issues/3057

Nor does it allow for shared communities (ie the aforementioned /c/games is unified across multiple instances)

https://github.com/LemmyNet/lemmy/issues/3100

We are in the early days. If you're eager feel free to join in the development on these any many other core issues. There's real potential here.
