The amount of credit people give Steve Jobs is such a kick to the nuts to all the engineers that designed those products

Try to lead an engineering team and make them all pull the same way and create a high quality, cohesive offering. It's not as simple as you think. Good engineers should be recognized, but so should actual good leadership and technical vision. Steve's visions may not always have been hits (and he often struggled with pricing) but it's undeniable he had vision.

Easy, the premise of the post is that he's a jerk. Since all white males are jerks and he's white, this is used as supporting evidence.

Who cares how well the stock market is doing if we all got mass fired to make it happen

People who hold large amounts of stock 😀 They don't give a shit how many people get fired as long as their portfolio keeps increasing in value

I’m an educator, and one thing I think about is that I want to teach the girls that men are not to be feared, and to teach the boys not to be men to be afraid of.

Thank you. I'm sick of seeing "white men need to step back". "Oh god, another white man trying to force his opinions on us." This stuff would be horribly racist if you replace white with black. (except for the black people can't be racist meme...)

Has Starlink considered just using really tall antennas? Should be a lot easier than all the risks associated with putting equipment into low Earth orbit.

True, but keep in mind this is less revenue for the daycare center, less revenue for the coffee shop around the corner from the office, etc. That money doesn't just go into a void.

"Life of luxury" and "fair share" isn't the defining situation for tens of thousands of small businesses across the USA.

I mean, it is Neil Young. We're not talking some mumblecore rapper from Minnesota. He's going to put up some big numbers. All those 0.01$ add up.

The US government isn’t party to private contracts. Can’t dictate terms in that manner.

Nonsense. Try writing a contract that makes someone your slave and see how enforceable it is. How do you think minimum wage works? Walmart is paying that out of the goodness of their heart? No... they are forced to by the feds.

Sure, even the most evil people don't kick puppies ALL day. Note: I am not a Hitler supporter, just pointing out that TOTAL evil doesn't exist:

  • Hitler's early reforms in Germany helped reduce unemployment significantly. Between 1933-1936, he introduced a series of measures aimed at generating jobs and revitalizing the economy through the Four Year Plan. By the time World War II began, the rate had dropped from over 30% to around 7%.

  • Hitler initiated major infrastructure improvements throughout Germany, including building new roads, highways, bridges, airports, harbors, and canals. This helped modernize the country and facilitated trade and travel.

  • Under Hitler’s rule, Germany made significant progress in areas such as education and healthcare. There was a sharp increase in the number of school children and students enrolling in universities, as well as investments in scientific research.

  • Women's rights were expanded during this period. Hitler allowed married women to continue working outside the home and gave them the right to equal pay for equal work. He also promoted women's participation in the labor market by providing subsidies for childcare services.

  • Hitler's government launched a massive rearmament program, which led to rapid advances in German military technology. These advancements played a crucial role in the early successes of the Wehrmacht during WWII.

  • The Nazi Party under Hitler invested heavily in improving housing conditions and construction projects for average citizens, notably through programs like the "Strength Through Joy" initiative, which provided low-cost vacations for workers.

  • German culture flourished during the Third Reich. Hitler understood the importance of art, music, theater, and literature in maintaining national pride and identity. He funded numerous arts projects and encouraged artists to produce works that reflected his vision for a strong, unified Germany.

I can also create lists of really bad and evil things that he did, so he's not exactly my favorite person.
