"the squid, measuring about one foot in length"

yes, still cool, but guys.....guys....

Is it an approximate foot in length of a thing 2000 feet away, or is it like actually just a foot long?

Edit: Oh missed a line. It's a baby.

It is a baby colossal squid. Only one foot long now, but the article mentions “they can reach lengths of 23 ft.”

According to wikipedia:

Maximum total length has been estimated between 10 metres (33 ft) and 14 metres (46 ft) but the former estimate is more likely.
