We used to have an amazing rail system
There used to literally be curbside rail service to the pier where I grew up.
Now we can't even get something through a planning process in 10 years.
Santa Cruz NIMBYs are right up there with Marin NIMBYs
Everyone there loves to pretend it's so progressive and shit too.
Last year some kids literally had a birthday party for Hitler with a swasticake
Right to the boardwalk in Santa Cruz? What happened to that train?
Not profitable. So basically capitalism.
Also yes I grew up in SC, I know a professor that used to teach classes with angela davis and he has Huey Newton's record collection and weight set.
Apparently Huey was a real big fan of pop music lol.
Ah, no surprise there I guess.
lol I graduated from the UC, heard Huey attended didn’t know he liked pop music. I met a professor who was a former Black Panther member, ran a class that helped humanize people without housing. Idk if we’re talking about the same dude but Franklin Williams is his name.
Old white guy? Might be him.
Nah, that’s a different professor
Our trains outside of AMBA and MardelPlata run at an average speed of 30 km/h
99% of grains get to ports and mills only via trucks
Container-carrying trains are inexistent basically
That's technically a light rail but with a big loco
