In my 30s:

can get a 50k mortgage with my salary but ok I rent a decent place
dad's old car works fine for me
beaches are crowded shit holes but garden is lively and nice and wild.
make just below average income at one of our countries best universities.
4 cats that are awesome, hobbies that are awesome, friends that are awesome, and I can smoke weed whenever I want nowadays.

Yeah the machine should still burn but at leasty I can be moderately happy without paying.
