Why even bother with primaries? Just give every nomination to the most senior candidate who isn't vetoed by someone more senior. And then before the general elections, the most senior members of both parties can meet and pick which voters they want.

I don't know the history of our the-democrat and the-republican emotes if that's what you're referring to but they're supposed to represent the generic Democrat and Republican
