This kinda happened to me at a workplace.
I tried to negotiate my salary when I began and they said they don't negotiate salaries because people of color and women are disproportionately less likely to negotiate than White men who benefit from the practice. And I'm like, but... I'm a person of color?? They wouldn't hear any of it. One of the worst jobs I've ever had.
"It would actually be racist of us to pay you more."
This is like how car dealers have a no haggle policy and act like that's a good thing.
"So what you're saying is, we should all negotiate for our salaries together? What a great idea!"
That's exactly the proper response. If you can't negotiate individually, because it's "bad for the individuals," then negotiate collectively - "for the good of the company."

Why even bother with primaries? Just give every nomination to the most senior candidate who isn't vetoed by someone more senior. And then before the general elections, the most senior members of both parties can meet and pick which voters they want.

As conditions change and the capacity of the party grows, avenues of struggle that connect with more "disconnected" people like running in elections grows as a possibility.
Pretty hard to ignore the fact that fascists get strongly worded letters but people who say dems should do more than write angry letters get immediatly neutralized.
