Damn, really sounds like some sort of political party should have tried to capture voters interest instead of pushing the status quo that has been suffocating folks for their whole life.

[-] AnalogNotDigital@lemmy.wtf 0 points 3 weeks ago

This shit is so fucking lazy.

Biden enacted plenty of progressive asks during his term. Harris outlined plenty of progressive asks in her campaign as well.

Just because it wasn't 100% of what YOU personally wanted doesn't mean it wasn't good legislation.

Hope none of your family dies because of this, because if they do it's on you, mr protest voter.

[-] gamermanh@lemmy.dbzer0.com 1 points 3 weeks ago

Harris outlined plenty of progressive asks in her campaign as well.

She also outlined a move to the right and lied about working super hard for a ceasefire

So tired of people pretending the Dems weren't a horrific choice in 24, likely on purpose to give repubs their turn

[-] AnalogNotDigital@lemmy.wtf -1 points 3 weeks ago

You have 2 fucking choices. Sitting out means you have no right to complain, because you supported the worst side.

[-] gamermanh@lemmy.dbzer0.com 1 points 3 weeks ago

Sitting out means you have no right to complain

Always authoritarian bullshit from you people, pathetic

[-] AnalogNotDigital@lemmy.wtf -1 points 3 weeks ago

If you don't vote, your opinion is worthless. You chose to sit out, so why would anyone want to listen to you?

[-] gamermanh@lemmy.dbzer0.com 1 points 3 weeks ago

A lack of vote is a valid choice in the system, if it wasn't then it wouldn't be allowed.

You chose to sit out, so why would anyone want to listen to you?

So that they can get your vote next time, should they actually want to win? What kind of moronic question is that, are you guys actually as stupid as it seems the Dems are at understanding basic shit?

[-] DarkFuture@lemmy.world -1 points 3 weeks ago

So tired of people pretending the Dems weren’t a horrific choice in 24

Yeah, way worse than literal fascism.

likely on purpose to give repubs their turn

Lol. Do you still wear your clown nose when you're at home alone? 🤡

[-] queermunist@lemmy.ml 0 points 3 weeks ago* (last edited 3 weeks ago)

Biden butchered children by the tens of thousands. I want to fucking die because I voted for that monster.

[-] Saledovil@sh.itjust.works 0 points 3 weeks ago

Yeah, he personally turned 26487 children into various meat products for the whit house barbecue. He's a surprisingly good chef, though. Those spare ribs were the best I ever had.

[-] queermunist@lemmy.ml 0 points 3 weeks ago* (last edited 3 weeks ago)

He personally ensured Israel had the bombs and international legal protection necessary to murder all those children. He did everything he could to guarantee those children died in twisted shieking agony. In fact, many of them did burn to death and he his personally responsible for cooking them alive.

Let me put it this way: I don't feel like I deserve to live anymore for my role in the genocide.

Do you feel innocent?

[-] supernight52@lemmy.world 0 points 3 weeks ago

Do you feel innocent?

Yes. Because our 2 options were a fascist, and a Liberal. Liberals may suck, but they can be worked with, and reasoned with. Fascists don't have that perk.

[-] irmoz@reddthat.com 0 points 3 weeks ago* (last edited 3 weeks ago)

Liberals are just fascists with better PR. They absolutely cannot be reasoned with, as evidenced by the democrats being exactly as complicit in the genocide as the republicans. No reasoning has managed to convince that party that Palestine deserves to exist.

Just admit what you really mean:

"The democrats may be just as genocidal outside of our country, but at least they're not genociding inside our country like the republicans would".

Or, put simply, "the democrats are evil in a way that doesn't impact me".

[-] supernight52@lemmy.world 0 points 3 weeks ago

You're not very smart, are you?

[-] irmoz@reddthat.com 0 points 3 weeks ago

Smart enough to not fall for such an obvious deflection, at any rate.

[-] supernight52@lemmy.world 0 points 3 weeks ago

Hard to "fall" for something that isn't there. You're just making the statement that Liberals=Fascists, when you're factually wrong. Please go to any Poli-sci course, and you will learn. Alternatively, you could just not comment when you're uninformed. Sorry to hear about your TBE.

[-] irmoz@reddthat.com 0 points 3 weeks ago

If you're gonna say anything other than "but but they're literally not the same, so therefore they can't be compared", get back to me. Go talk to some actual humans and learn how we speak, learn the nuance in language required to understand that "liberals are fascist" is not saying "the definition of liberalism is identical to that of fascists".

Liberals support and prop up fascists, both materially by carrying their policies through without challenge, and also ideologically by giving a false vision of "The Left", while edging further and further right, limiting the horizon of what politics can be. If the "good guy" is barely different from the "bad guy", surely the bad guy can't really be that bad... right?

They are both bourgeois parties serving the same corporate and imperial interests. Liberals are just smarter and like to throw in some welfare and pander to progressive causes so their outright villainy is less obvious.

[-] supernight52@lemmy.world 0 points 3 weeks ago

"Liberals are just fascists with better PR."

You're delusional. You literally are saying yourself they are exactly the same. Go to lemmy.ml- they love dumbass tankie takes.

[-] irmoz@reddthat.com 0 points 2 weeks ago* (last edited 2 weeks ago)

Liberals and fascists share core beliefs and assumptions about scoeity, particularly the role of the state.

The state exists only as a tool to oppress the working class, and must be demolished, along with its corporate overlords. Find a tankie that would say that, but after first getting fucked.

[-] DarkFuture@lemmy.world 0 points 3 weeks ago

You're the whiniest drama queen I've come across so far on Lemmy.

[-] irmoz@reddthat.com 1 points 2 weeks ago

Being against genocide is nothing more than "whining" to you? You see someone upset that innocent men, women and children are being killed, and you call them a DRAMA QUEEN? WTF is wrong with you? Doesn't death and destruction bother you?

[-] Cornelius_Wangenheim@lemmy.world 0 points 3 weeks ago

Huh, I had no idea Biden was Prime Minister of Israel. I'd always heard it was that Netanyahu guy.

[-] ExtantHuman@lemm.ee 0 points 3 weeks ago

...he gave him the weapons. And kept giving them after knowing what was happening...

[-] arrow74@lemm.ee -1 points 3 weeks ago* (last edited 3 weeks ago)

And now thankfully Trump has stopped the genocide, oh wait he accelerated it.

With Kamala there was a chance things would have changed. The dems were at least applying pressure to Israel to find a resolution. I have plenty of criticisms and am pissed we spent tax dollars arming Israel.

However, now our government is enthusiastically supporting the elimination of Gaza. So yeah that didn't pan out

"Queermunist", implying you are both queer and communist.

Mate you... you know you are the first group of people the turd wants to get rid of?

You deserve what's coming for you, because you are the one asking for it, so when they come for you (because, unless there's a very significant change, it's not an if but a when), remember that you voted for it.

[-] queermunist@lemmy.ml 1 points 3 weeks ago

Imagine telling a minority "you deserve to be killed by fascists because you didn't vote for my preferred candidate."

It's like they say! Scratch a liberal...

[-] AnalogNotDigital@lemmy.wtf 0 points 3 weeks ago

Imagine telling someone you're fine with queer people being killed at home, because you're so entitled that you sat out to defend those people.

[-] queermunist@lemmy.ml -1 points 3 weeks ago

Did I say I was fine with this? I just believe we can do things other than wait for the next election to stop it from happening. Get organized, get a gun, and get ready.

Are you going to act? Or are you going to sit on your ass and wait for another election that is never going to come?

Because if you're waiting for the next election to stop fascism you are going to lose.

[-] AnalogNotDigital@lemmy.wtf 0 points 3 weeks ago

There's this nice little thing called OPSEC and talking about such things just makes you a target.

[-] queermunist@lemmy.ml -1 points 3 weeks ago* (last edited 3 weeks ago)

Talking about what? Owning a gun is a right! I certainly would never use it for anything other than paper target shooting on a gun range.

That's all paper ballots are good for - target practice.

But it's not bad opsec to tell people to buy guns. That's just sensible. The people without guns are the ones that are targeted first .

Imagine being part of a minority that a president has vowed to hunt and actively or passively help that president come to power so he can hunt you.

[-] queermunist@lemmy.ml 1 points 3 weeks ago* (last edited 3 weeks ago)

I live in a red state, my vote doesn't even fucking count in this shit hole country.

Don't be so modest, you're excited for me to get murdered for being disobedient. That's why you won't lift a finger to resist fascism. Voting is the limit of your participation in politics and you aren't going to be allowed to vote fascist away.

I won't be surprised when volunteer to be one of the camp guards because you think you can change the system from the inside.

[-] DarkFuture@lemmy.world 0 points 3 weeks ago

I live in a red state, my vote doesn’t even fucking count in this shit hole country.

Loser attitude.

Don’t be so modest, you’re excited for me to get murdered for being disobedient.

Whiny bitch attitude.

That’s why you won’t lift a finger to resist fascism.

We voted against it, dipshit. Stop trying to goad others into taking physical action when you're too much of a pussy to do it yourself.

Stop typing. The more you type, the more of a fool you make yourself out to be.

[-] irmoz@reddthat.com 1 points 2 weeks ago

You did not vote against fascism, you voted for quieter, slower fascism.

[-] arrow74@lemm.ee -1 points 3 weeks ago

It's called self preservation and acknowledging that America's voting system is fundamentally flawed. You vote for harm reduction not perfection.

It's easier to fight against the genocide in Israel when you're not under a fascist government in your own country

[-] queermunist@lemmy.ml 1 points 3 weeks ago* (last edited 3 weeks ago)

I refuse to choose genocide for self preservation.

In fact, I kind of want to die just for my role as a passive participant in the genocide. I think about Aaron Bushnell a lot.

[-] DarkFuture@lemmy.world 0 points 3 weeks ago

I refuse to choose genocide for self preservation.

Then you'll get fascism at home. And did.

I kind of want to die just for my role as a passive participant in the genocide.

You sound like kind of a fool.

[-] irmoz@reddthat.com 1 points 2 weeks ago

Imagine voting for genocide and thinking you have the moral high ground because you voted for the genocide that doesn't personally harm you.

[-] arrow74@lemm.ee -1 points 3 weeks ago

So by not wanting to be complicit in one genocide you allowed fascism to rise and now are unwilling complicit in more crimes against humanity.

Harm reduction is a simple concept

[-] Deceptichum@quokk.au -1 points 3 weeks ago* (last edited 3 weeks ago)

Because Joe "nothing would fundamentally change" Biden was so progressive.

Hope none of your family died in the years before Trump like the hundreds of thousands of others who die each year from easily fixable causes but weren't because they lived in status quo America.

Quick question, do you in any way shape or form hold the Democratic party responsible for their performance at the polls?

[-] AnalogNotDigital@lemmy.wtf 1 points 3 weeks ago

How many billions of dollars in student loan debt did Biden cancel? How much more would have been cancelled if the supreme court didn't act in a blatantly partisan manner?

Yeah, I do hold them responsible. Shumer shouldn't be in leadership and AOC should be on every high profile committee there is.

Not voting solves nothing. You know how you get more progressive legislation passed? By voting for the party that has progressives in it. That's how. More democrats means more people like AOC. It doesn't fucking matter if your personal rep is a god damned blue dog if it means there's one less republican in congress.

[-] NauticalNoodle@lemmy.ml -1 points 3 weeks ago* (last edited 3 weeks ago)

How many billions in student loan debt did Biden create by helping establish the predatory student-loan system as it currently exists?

So, between someone who doesn't allign 100% with my views and it's not a nazi and an actual nazi, much better to choose the nazi, right? I mean, I guess it's your vote so you can do as you please with it, but I reaaaaaally hope you don't get any of what's coming for you, because you know... you voted for all this so there is no empathy left in me for someone who's getting what they asked for.

[-] kreskin@lemmy.world 1 points 3 weeks ago

there is no empathy left in me for someone who’s getting what they asked for

Is that really something you think anyone here will care about? whether you "have empathy" for them? You have a wildly overinflated ego buddy. Have empathy, dont have it-- it doesnt matter to anyone. But if you could be less tedious and noisy we'd all appreciate that. Why dont you try that angle? Threaten to be yourself unless we do what you want.

[-] supernight52@lemmy.world -1 points 3 weeks ago

"you have a wildly inflated ego, buddy"

writes dissertation on why they don't care, because their opinion is the one that matters
