Hello everyone. Sorry I didn't post this last week. I was overwhelmed by events and forgot. Anyway, I've been playing lots of balatro and Nightreign for the past 2 weeks. I hope everyone has had a relaxing weekend

It's the same graphics engine they used for Octopath Traveler. I think some other JRPGs got similar remasters.

But yeah. Dragon Quest 3 is a blast to play. It's amazing the NES could handle it. I think it was 5? That also released at the end of the SNES's lifespan. Those two didn't see much distribution in North America because they came so late. It's nice the series has gotten re-releases over the years. The first Monsters game is coming out (or is already out), which sucked up a significant portion of my childhood. I played it more than Pokémon.

That’s what I mean, I remember both of the Octopath Travelers having really intense lighting effects that I thought were pretty unpleasant to look at. But for some reason it doesn’t bother me in DQ3 HD as much even though it’s in the same style. I looked it up and Live A Live got the same treatment and looks fine as well so maybe they’ve been adjusting the style recently. sans-shrug

DQ Monsters is definitely one I want to try at some point too. I never got into any of the monster collecting games besides Pokemon and it feels like I missed out on a lot of good games.
