This whole situation is kinda like the Streisand effect; nobody would have know who they were if they didnt react

But guilt made them react. They knew what they were doing was wrong, but did it anyway.

no one: pursues

the guilty: flees

Is this deep or am I just stupid?

[-] SomeAmateur@sh.itjust.works 13 points 10 months ago

It's pretty deep for a bible verse

"The wicked flee when none persueth, but the riteous go bold as a lion" or something like that

The writers never hear about anxiety.

[-] null_dot@lemmy.dbzer0.com 14 points 10 months ago

Their employees and partners probably WorldCom found out about it but it wouldn't have become the eternal meme it is now.

[-] Ephera@lemmy.ml 7 points 10 months ago

How the hell did your autocorrect turn that into "WorldCom"? Is that something you type out a lot? 😅

[-] 0_o7@lemmy.dbzer0.com 5 points 10 months ago

Speech to text most likely and then not checking what you're posting.

[-] null_dot@lemmy.dbzer0.com 3 points 10 months ago

It wasn't speech to text but obviously no, I didn't check.

[-] ordnance_qf_17_pounder@reddthat.com 11 points 10 months ago

What's pissing me off about it now is people eating up the fake statement that the guy "released". Neither of them have commented on it.

[-] blackbrook@mander.xyz 2 points 10 months ago

What was that claim? And is there some equivalent of TLDR I can preemptively use about whatever news coverage contains this info which I don't want to look up and wish to ignore if I eventually come across it?
