Had to do fucky OS stuff to keep (current game) from crashing. Not gonna say which one. But it has Denuvo 😭
I played Date Everything last week. Fun game, but has at least one softlock (blocking certain 100% related achievements — you can technically end the game whenever) still extant.
Because of the way endgame works, you can be locked out of almost 10 characters' story arc endings by being locked out of one character ending. I'd wait at least until hotfix 3 before starting a game, maybe even the patch after that.
IMO, they should change the character endings to require a maximum of 90 stats rather than 100. 100 stats requires all of 20 characters to not have progress stopping bugs, which was not realistic on launch for an indie game of this complexity.
I wish it was made more clear that hate endings lock you out of 100% realizations. Yes, you get their stats anyway, but I think the game would be better with hate endings for all characters as well. But that would be thousands of dollars worth of writer-hours and voice acting on top of a massive load.
Very cool to see the depth and breadth of voice actors on display, however. And the actors get residuals on the game revenue, which is unheard of for game acting.
Oh I wrapped up my time with it just yesterday. I got one of the stats to 100 and met over 85 of the objects and felt like I had seen it. I think the concept and the game is really fun but at the same time the requirements to get a 100% would make it become VERY tiresome for me. So I tapped out when I did.
Gotta give props to the amount of effort they went with the very high number of chars and all the voice acting.
I'll probably come back and do a 100% friend run someday on new game +, since you keep your stats from first game. I'm locked out of realizing Skylar with my first playthrough having about 5 characters on hate, so I went ahead and triggered end.
Phoenecia was softlocked on my playthrough so I had to use the DLC stats to make up for it and get to 100 Charm. How ironic. But I got the 90+ realization ending which was nice. Shame I had to do repetitive virtual skinner boxes with the lootbox character to max my last stat, but at least it was fake money to "pull."
