Attacking people who agree with you in order to fulfill your need to feel self-righteous and outraged is actively harmful... but people are tribal and social media encourages hot takes and outrage over healthy conversation.

People just internalize that toxicity. Like how the TikTok kids will say s*x or unalive in other social space because they're conditioned by TikTok's censorship. People pick up bad behaviors in their social groups and also learn to be actively hostile to anyone who tries to correct/disagree with them.
