ideologies are the worst, irrespective of how well or ill intentioned they are. They fundamentally split humanity into two groups: those who believe and those who don't

That assumes a binary of either nihilism or fundamentalism. That's not how the vast majority of humanity think or feel.

For example, I'm staunchly and categorically against organized religion, but that doesn't mean that I'll dismiss the opinion of anyone who happens to be religious. That would make me a bigot and a fool.

I WILL on the other hand be extremely skeptical of any fundamentalist as the rigid absolutism that entails leads to the denial of any objective reality that doesn't conform to their core beliefs.

Ironically, your assumption that ideology = fundamentalism is itself casually fundamentalist bordering on bigoted in its absolutism.
