"Anti-warism" is Marvel-level thinking. The Union was correct in invading the Confederacy and freeing the slaves. Millitant intervention is justifiable if the reasoning is correct, if you refuse to analyze anything and just reflexively take the side of the invaded in any and all circumstances, you are powerless to understand why events happen and which way they will flow.
Chiefly, you again stated that Russia is going to "keep inventing reasons to invade their neighbors." Why do you believe this is true? The stated reasons, wanting NATO neutrality in Ukraine and to protect the ethnic Russians in the Donbass region that Kiev was slaughtering for trying to secede after the Euromaidan coup, tracks perfectly with Russia's stance on NATO encirclement all the way back when NATO was founded as an anti-communist coalition against the USSR.
Hitler invaded Poland as a part of Lebensraum. Nazi Germany had a millitant structuring of society. Capital was in crisis, and post World War I, the inter-ally debts that were repaid to the US were pushed onto Germany in the form of reparations for damages during World War I, squeezing the economy and leaving Germany with little to no colonies, and the allies with all of them. As the loser of an inter-imperialist war while still requiring imperialism for capital to function, Hilter and the Nazis turned towards Europe. Nazi Germany was economically compelled for conquest, and promised conquest of a much larger portion of Europe publicly and repeatedly.
The Russian Federation, on the other hand, is what came after the dissolition of the Soviet Union. Russia has had a production-focused economy since the early 1900s, and hasn't been imperialist since the Tsar. Russia does not have the huge amounts of financial capital necessary to compel imperialism into action, what it seeks from the Russo-Ukrainian War is a barrier to prevent full-scale land invasion from NATO through Ukraine. It doesn't need conquest to sustain its economy, it doesn't run on export of capital.
The fact that you choose to write fanfiction, and argue against analysis and in favor of blindness, is the epitome of applying a Marvel-like understanding of the world to complex international politics, and the effect of which justifies your desire for Ukrainians to continue fighting a losing war they do not have a wish to fight any longer. You just want bloodsport.
Why is Ukraine interested in joining NATO? Might it have something to do with their neighbor who decided to invade? Why do you keep blaming Ukraine for a war Russia started?
Ukraine wants to join NATO because post-Euromaidan coup the far-right Banderites were put into power deliberately by the west in order to create a millitary foothold right on Russia's doorstep. Yanukovych was coup'd for picking the Russian loan over the western loan, the reasoning being that the Russian loan did not require privatization of safety nets like healthcare while the western loan did, freeing up avenues for western capitalists to plunder. Saber-rattline about Russian invasion is what caused Ukraine to violate both Minsk I and II, which were last-ditch efforts to resolve the growing conflict diplomatically.
I blame the west more than anything. Without the Euromaidan coup, Yanukovych would have remained, safety nets would not be privatized and Ukraine would not be a glorified gangster-state where the Kiev regime has a habit of oppressing ethnic Russians within their borders through measures like language suppression. Without NATO, there would not be a means to develop a millitary foothold on Russia's doorsteps with missiles pointed right at their cities. Without western imperialism, there would be no need for NATO, as NATO soley exists as an alliance of the world's imperialist powers to retain their privledged positions as world plunderers.
I ask that you try to actually look at the last decades that have built up to the war to see why it is happening, as we can know how we should best support it ending. The only reason it would make sense for Ukraine to continue fighting is if this was an existential conflict, but there's no real evidence pointing to that. On the contrary, there's mountains of evidence pointing to Russia's aims being exactly what they have stated: the 4 oblasts, NATO neutrality, and Kiev to stop oppressing ethnic Russians within their borders.
Yes let's look to history, Russia took Crimea then stopped right? They achieved their goals so they stopped right? https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Russian_annexation_of_Crimea
The reasoning underlying the annexation of Crimea is the same as the annexation of the 4 oblasts, seperatists in Ukraine that are predominantly Russian ethnically wished to secede from the new far-right Banderite regime. Between the annexation of Crimea and the annexation of the Donetsk and Luhansk People's Republics, there were attempts to resolve the crisis and secession war diplomatically via the Minsk Agreements, which Ukraine violated, leading to the modern Russo-Ukrainian War.
In the days leading up to the Russo-Ukrainian War, Kiev dramatically increased shelling of the Donbass region, prompting Donetsk and Lunansk to ask for Russian assistance, and here we are.
You still don't have any reasoning for why Russia is just a country driven to invade. There's no material basis to any of your assertions, just vibes. Again, this is Marvel-tier analysis, the "bad guys" invade because they are "bad guus," and the "good guys" should therefore fight to the last man for your entertainment even though the support for the war in the beginning has faded and desire for peace is rising.
Right I just need to understand why Germany wants Poland, then it will all make sense
