Anyone know what the numbers I occasionally hear them say on the livestream mean? a while ago they were yelling 103 between boats iirc and I just heard an excited "48??!"
Maybe it's code? Like, to be sure they can communicate safely?
103 was the compass bearing i think
I think 103 was the compass bearing, a compass is a circle, so north is 0 degrees, east (towards the orient) is 90 degrees, 103 degrees is a little further south
thats why they were shouting to 'hold 103', especially sailing a boat will move around a lot and you have to actively stear the course
