I'm impressed - by her vocal behavior I assumed she was a long-established figure in kids' entertainment/development, a la Raffi or similar - a seasoned, respected public figure.

But nope! She's been at it for only around 6 years, still pretty brand new. Turns out she's just a dope human with compassion, principles, and bravery to spare.

Show us how it's done, Ms. Rachel!

She went viral very quickly, as a lot of kids stuff does. Her earlier videos had relatively poor production value, literally just a smartphone recording her playing pretend with toys and singing songs. but kids loved it, some things just universally and inexplicably loved by children, sort of like baby shark or cocomelon but probably better for kids since it isn't animated slop.

Only a year or two into her popularity, she was cancelled by the right for having a trans person in some of her videos. She stood firm on her values then, and is standing firm now for Palestine. Truly an outstanding human.

She's one of those rare people more interested in human decency than there ideological preconceptions. It's really inspiring to see. Very much a modern Mr Rogers in that sense.

A much needed Mr. Rogers style figure for a severely fucked up time.

I watched a video where she explained why she speaks the way she does. It’s based in research. I think she is quite intentional and knowledgeable about what she’s doing, and it’s not as random as it might seem that kids love her.

I actually have heard a bit about this. IIRC she really studied Mr. Rogers a lot. I don't mean to say its just "random", but I remember the first time seeing her and was surprised at how into the video the child was. But I guess I was also into it too, at least enough to pay attention. Unfortunately, that family stopped letting their son watch Ms. Rachel because of the trans "controversy"
