I literally do not understand the meme. Is the first meaning of CNC something sexual?

[-] Jarix@lemmy.world 43 points 2 months ago

Consensual non consent.

Also known, or formerly known as rape play.

[-] Holytimes@sh.itjust.works 14 points 2 months ago

I feel like calling it rape play is just more honest.

[-] ricecake@sh.itjust.works 23 points 2 months ago

It's more blunt, but people who have been raped would point out that there's a big difference between the sexual nature of consensual non consent, and the objectively violent nature of rape.

It's less that it's less honest than that it's more clear about what it is, and what it isn't. It's about what people think rape is about, and not what it actually is: angry, hateful and violent.

[-] Petter1@discuss.tchncs.de 1 points 2 months ago

But consensual non consent as well as rape can be soft

Eg free use -> CNC

Or use of power, like financial dependency -> rape

[-] ricecake@sh.itjust.works 2 points 2 months ago

That's fair, and a good example on the first one.

I don't really care to quibble on the details too much, but I believe a lot of definitions would distinguish the coercive from the forcible.

In either case, it speaks to the cnc phrase being more apt than otherwise.

[-] bitjunkie@lemmy.world 6 points 2 months ago

It got ruined by anti-edgelord zoomers who put shit like "seggs" in their TikTok captions to prevent demonetization.

[-] rumba@lemmy.zip 10 points 2 months ago

Eh, I'll make the mill please...

[-] PrettyFlyForAFatGuy@feddit.uk 7 points 2 months ago

I prefer "struggle fucking"...

consensual of course

[-] cassandrafatigue@lemmy.dbzer0.com 5 points 2 months ago

And the use of computerized numerically controlled fabrication can't be part of consentual non co!sent because...???

[-] Jarix@lemmy.world 1 points 2 months ago

If you say so I'll believe you. Not my cup o tea

[-] cassandrafatigue@lemmy.dbzer0.com 6 points 2 months ago

I'm just imaging a 'no Mr. Bond. I expect you to die' situation, but, I dunno, sexy?

[-] Kellenved@sh.itjust.works 2 points 2 months ago

What about that situation isn’t hot to begin with?

[-] cassandrafatigue@lemmy.dbzer0.com 2 points 2 months ago* (last edited 2 months ago)

All men, the worst common gender. And the thing is just moving in a line. Nothing's really happening outside that. Nobody's leg is being flash frozen with liquid nitrogen and lathed into a dildo here.

[-] Devjavu@lemmy.dbzer0.com 2 points 2 months ago

And let me guess, it's not called that anymore because 1. it's not really rape 2. it got mixed up too often and then people got soft on it?

[-] Jarix@lemmy.world 2 points 2 months ago

I'm not sure if the details around it. Not my cup o tea

[-] Devjavu@lemmy.dbzer0.com 1 points 2 months ago
[-] Jarix@lemmy.world 1 points 2 months ago

Meh, as kinks go thats pretty common

[-] Devjavu@lemmy.dbzer0.com 1 points 2 months ago

Yeah, but I don't know if the interest is then as common to be interested in it's history to such an extend that you know stuff like that.

[-] Jarix@lemmy.world 0 points 2 months ago

Sorry I'm not understanding what you mean... (I'm pretty sick right now so it could just be me being dumb)

[-] Devjavu@lemmy.dbzer0.com 1 points 2 months ago

Yeah, it's been going around here as well.

I meant that while I'm sure a lot of people have the kink, not many may be interested in it's history, such that they are capable of talking about the reasons why it is not called rapeplay anymore.

[-] Jarix@lemmy.world 1 points 2 months ago

I can see how that might be the case. Thanks for helping me out

[-] Devjavu@lemmy.dbzer0.com 1 points 2 months ago

Crazy you feel obliged to say thank you for such a small act. Makes me think about our anonymous individual-based society.

[-] Jarix@lemmy.world 0 points 2 months ago* (last edited 2 months ago)

...I didn't feel obligated.

I felt thankful and thought it would be nice to let you know that.

Edit: also you seemed to show some empathy and took the time to comment that illness is also plaguing your area, so it seemed like you were an emphatic person to some degree. Thought you might be receptive and appreciate knowing.

Was a little thing, just a few words, and ,selfishly, if a few words hello you have a better day, even for just a literal moment, that makes me feel good so it really isn't a bother to state my honest feelings.

Not a big deal but im happy to have an honest interaction even if it is to someone I'll likely never see or come across again.

Cheers

[-] Devjavu@lemmy.dbzer0.com 1 points 2 months ago

Hey man, no hard feelings to you. It was a nice gesture. Though I did indeed not think about the illness part. Much love sent your way. I see nothing you did wrong in particular.

[-] Jarix@lemmy.world 0 points 2 months ago

Oh no hard feelings here! Sorry if it came off that way.

Then your humbleness and niceness was what had confused me. You wonder where this kindness comes from, next to a state of moron and bullies.

Heheheheheheheheheheheheehehehheehhehehe I can't stop grinning

[-] cassandrafatigue@lemmy.dbzer0.com 1 points 2 months ago

I'm sorry, I'll turn the computer off. I didn't realize it was still running.

[-] Devjavu@lemmy.dbzer0.com 2 points 2 months ago

That's actually horrific. Pleasure to death by rounding error was not on my bingo card.

[-] cassandrafatigue@lemmy.dbzer0.com 1 points 2 months ago* (last edited 2 months ago)

Yeah, sorry. I thought the cnc machine had better failsafes, but I had to code some of it in c# so...

[-] Devjavu@lemmy.dbzer0.com 2 points 2 months ago

I hate c# for some reason, but I can't remember why. Kind regards, Java dev.

[-] cassandrafatigue@lemmy.dbzer0.com 2 points 2 months ago

I think its the proprietary ms one that only runs 100% right¹ on windows.

¹or is supposed to-windows is windows and wine exists.

[-] Devjavu@lemmy.dbzer0.com 1 points 2 months ago

Yeah, feels about right. I actually did develop in c# once and I hated that I was bound to the shitty microsoft tools. They were open source and baack then I didn't really know linux, but I hated them. Just clunky.
