I think what struck me the most was that Brace's parents still haven't really come to terms with what they did to them. It's insidious how they infect the entire familial dynamic.

In my experience a lot of trauma visited on children by their parents is motivated by love and fear. They can't admit their wrongs because their intentions were "pure" or some shit.

I feel so sorry for Nick.
