We have had lots of movies over the years regarding AI and it's always the same, it's giving you the simple solution that you asked for, it doesn't care about diplomacy, it doesn't care if humans won't be able to live there, it's viewpoint about us is that we are unnecessary and even if we give it ultimate prime directives that human life should be protected and preserved at all costs, it'll eventually decide that's irrelevant because we are killing eachother constantly over pointless reasons that the AI will always come to the same conclusion, wipe the slate clean.
AI does not exist. The Americans are listening to the equivalent of the predictive text algorithm on your phone scaled up by 1 billion.
Well they did purge a few AIs because they started inventing their own language and evolved too fast so yeah i see your point.

This is an ad for facebook's chatbox. I am a computer scientist. The chatboxes pointed at each other are poisoning their own datasets by optimizing for what the average human conversation appears like, but they are no longer talking to humans. Look at the example used in the article.
Without a human involved, the chatbox is useless, as it can't teach itself what is being expected of it. It's essentially """"learning"""" that nonsense is an acceptable output.

I don't believe your source is a reliable science communicator, but regardless I'd like to know more about this.
I believe "their own language" is popular miscommunication of the Gibberlink demonstration from February last year where LLMs identify each other and switch to ggwave communication. I don't know of any evidence for models being "purged" as they claim.
