Personally I subscribe to the theory that Iran hitting Cyprus to provoke military response from Greece, which would trigger Türkiye to turn aggressive like the last time Greece sent theor military to Cypress.

It's also why I think Iran has largely ignored Azerbaijan, as to not bring Türkiye into the conflict, instead using existing NATO disputes against them.

What are they gonna do? europe dumped everything they could into ukraine. 99% of nato is already involved.

I don't think treaties and things like article 5 mean a damn anymore. Countries will go to war if they decide it's in their interests and won't if they don't.

I mean, they're already part, they just claim they aren't while supplying everything to attack Iran. But great for the world that Iran doesn't accept their lies.
