I don't care how hot the weather is, roller skating in beach clothes is asking for a hospital visit. And this is in the 70s, they were probably using thiomersal or hydrogen peroxide for antiseptics, which hurt like hell.

Good old tincture of merthiolate, my grandma’s bottle had a handwritten label. Mmm. Mercury.
One time they started advertising that the new version of merthiolate didn't hurt. They lied.
Lmao all they did was take the mercury out sometime in like the 80s, the mercury wasn’t the part that made it sting, it stung because it was like 48% alcohol.
