Nope. Just calling out this shit take against liberals. The fight should be us against wealth. The rest is distraction.

It's not possible to fight against wealth when liberals shut down every criticism of the system built to ensure that the wealth becomes concentrated. No meaningful fight against the rich is possible until the core contradictions of liberalism are addressed.

Liberalism is a system that consists of two components which are fundamentally at odds with one another. First is political liberalism which espouses wholesome ideas such as individual freedoms and democracy. Second is economic liberalism centred around free markets, private property, and wealth accumulation. These two aspects form a contradiction. Political liberalism purports to support everyone’s freedom, while economic liberalism enshrines private property rights as sacred in laws and constitutions, effectively removing them from political debate.

As such, liberalism justifies the use of state violence to safeguard property rights, over supporting ordinary people, which directly contradicts the promises of fairness and equality. Private property is seen as a key part of individual freedom under this ideology, and provides the foundational justification for the rich to keep their wealth while ignoring the needs of everyone else. Addressing the inequality in Canada requires facing the problem of capitalist relations where a handful of people own the means of production and decide on how and why we work.

Did you just take a civics course or something? We’re making the same point. You’re using liberalism in the correct way, but it’s not correct in the current social structure and your argument is getting lost. Liberals are a party. A left of centre belief today. The description you just posted is more of a libertarian and right view point. In fact the comic posted is satire of the right a-la Charlie Kirk “curious”. I think we’re on the same page but your verbiage is inciting the wrong message.

This is capitalism and libertarianism

This is capitalism and authoritarian

I'm not talking about liberals as party. I'm talking about the fundamental ideology that the state is built on in Canada. Every major party in Canada is a capitalist party. Liberalism at its core is a right wing ideology.

It's also weird to claim that the view point that the workers should own the means of production is libertarian and right wing. My claims, to spell it out for you, is that it's not possible to have meaningful democracy when a handful of oligarchs controls factories, stores, and decides the purpose of work. True democracy requires democratic ownership of the means of production where workers are able to do collective decision making.

It seems that you might be confused here, and perhaps would yourself benefit from taking a civics course sometime.

Ok so you’re just being antagonistic and misinterpreting or acting in bad faith. I’m done. Good bye.

Be honest, you only told people to not engage the troll so you could do it yourself

I didn't misinterpret anything you said, but it's pretty clear that you're the one acting in bad faith here. Now that I've pointed out the fallacy of your claims you rush to make a personal attack and disengage. Bye.
