They don't need oil. They need energy, and oil is the worst form of energy.
They need oil and gas because like the rest of the world most of their country infrastructure runs on it

Well until someone sends them a different method of energy generation, yeah they need oil.
China already did. They have several wind turbine farms and solar power plants.
They don't need oil. They just need to keep building. The whole world should be in this same position
