The internet interpretation of calvinism has ventured so far from actual calvinism that it is actually impressive
Westboro Baptist didn't do it any favours. Doesn't help that a lot of lay Calvinists in the USA are hypercalvinists instead.
Westboro Baptists isn't why internet people think Calvinists are the devil, no one really cares about Westboro Baptist Church's actual theology they just know they're assholes. The animosity towards Calvinism is rooted in pure phantasm.
