- Vote based on comment quality, not agreement. This community aims to foster discussion; please reward people for putting effort into articulating their viewpoint, even if you disagree with it.
- No hate speech, slurs, celebrating death, advocating violence, or abusive language. This will result in a ban. Usernames containing racist, or inappropriate slurs will be banned without warning
We ask that the users report any comment or post that violate the rules, to use critical thinking when reading, posting or commenting. Users that post off-topic spam, advocate violence, have multiple comments or posts removed, weaponize reports or violate the code of conduct will be banned.
All posts and comments will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis. This means that some content that violates the rules may be allowed, while other content that does not violate the rules may be removed. The moderators retain the right to remove any content and ban users.

I, for one, would like to thank the Republicans and Trump.
Theyre setting all kinds of precedents that will be used against them full throttle the moment theyre no longer in power. Truly a gift.
Keep dreaming, first you would need a Democrat with a spine. Then you would need a Democrat house and senate that wouldn't care about Republican feelings. Not happening

The paranoia is cute and all, little one. But I prefer not to live like the world is crashing down when its entirely out of my control.

My head in the sand? I just dont subscribe to the constant perception, on both sides, that the other side is the end of democracy as we know it.
Do I think Trump would like that if he could do it? Absolutely. Do I think that will be the outcome? No, I dont.
The fear mongering ad nauseum is what got us Trump to begin with. Republicans constantly being fed this idea the Democrats are the end of democracy, and if you disagree you're just a RINO, led us down this path. People who parrot the same on the left are just as bad.
If people are convinced their vote doesnt matter, they wont vote and youre feeding that.
But hey Im just being pragmatic about the state of things and whats within my capacity to control. Fuck me, right?

Assuming Democrats take power of every branch of government. They absolutely will not do anything like this against even the most vile of Republicans spreading hateful speech, up to and including those that engage in stochastic terrorism.
They always forget that their weapons are two edged swords that can be wielded against them, too.
Except they don't know how to wield them in the first place. They just thrash around.
I’d like you to meet the Democratic Party. They’ve said they appreciate your enthusiasm, but they’re going to “take the high road” and hope that they can just leave things as they are and pray things don’t get even worse when they lose next time.
Dont worry, when SCOTUS overturns Loving vs Virginia, dems will stand on the Capitol steps and sing kumbaya and ask us to all come together
I'm hopeful there may even be republican dissent for all the overstepping. I think there are still plenty of traditional, small government types who are looking out for number one by faking support while privately being under duress.
If that's true, it may embolden the equally cowardly dems to finally take appropriate action. One can hope, anyway.
Ever the optimist. Republicans grumble about other Republicans, they don't do anything about them. Republicans don't have principles, they have talking points and disdain for their neighbours. They don't have morals, they have self-righteousness.
