Year end inflation of 7% doesn't actually seem that bad? I'm surprised it's not higher tbh

That's the official numbers. They mean nothing in the real world. In the real world purchasing power of ruble got halved, at least.

Just like how the US fudges the numbers on Inflation by redefining the "basket of goods" used for calculations

Countries with a materially productive economy and decent balance of payments generally don't have excessive inflation.
