Are the claims of receiving death threats verified with evidence?
Nowadays that's the easiest Get Out of Jail Free card to manufacture. Just claim you're receiving death threats and you're suddenly the victim, regardless of if it actually happened or not.
A few who have falsely claimed that actually ended up getting charged with false reports IIRC
I sure hope so. False claims like that damage the credibility of people who it actually happens to.

Yeah I think it was killed fairly quickly in like 2014. Was just using it for illustration. If you regularly played the game you'll have had the same experience
