MODERATORS
Honestly it’s just like Reddit. The fact that you haven’t had bad experiences yet just means your beliefs matches the ones most recurring on Lemmy, which are mostly left/woke leaning.
If you simply question or disagree with people here it’s the same as Reddit, or sometimes even worse.
Reddit admins fucked up real bad, but all that toxicity was solely user fault. People behave like real dicks when they find their identities hidden behind a nickname, that’s just common knowledge.
If you want to be mentally sane and happy probably better avoid Lemmy and every other social network. People are garbage.
I find the quality of content to be way higher. People aren't desperately trying to stand out or fit in with a crowd.
You're right about the mods, though. All it takes is a large number of reports and they will usually come up with a reason to reprimand you, even if you aren't breaking any rules.
This, of course, has been and will continue to be abused to drown out people with dissenting opinions.
Content quality is basically a symptom of the lack of a karma system, which is very good.
That's not true.
