I haven't been on Lemmy in a few days because I can't even login on their website. Broke down and downloaded an app through play store so I could login to comment. I was waiting for Boost for Lemmy, but I guess fate had other plans.

Move off of lemmy.world

The big instances are overloaded and have major downtime issues

Can you explain me what would happen if I change from Lemmy.world? How easy is to migrate, how do I migrate, what instance to choose?

It's basically just a different account. Use once of the mobile apps, it'll make the experience was better. I'm using Liftoff from the IzzyOnDroid F-Droid repo and it's a relatively smooth experience. I just don't have much to do here yet since I was never a redditor myself.

There really isn't any way to 'migrate' right now. You can create accounts on as many instances as you like, but there isn't a solution for carrying post and comment history over. You can start here: https://github.com/maltfield/awesome-lemmy-instances

Check a few out and find an instance you like that aligns with your views or where you agree with the moderation. Preferably a small to medium sized one that hasn't been overloaded.

There actually are, they just aren't built in functionality yet. Go to this github and scroll to the tools section. Notable ones for this purpose are lasim, lemmy_migrate, and lemmy_account_sync.

As Cory Doctorow describes, we need the "easy to migrate away" functionality to avoid enshittification

I'd wish that damn boost would hurry up. I'm going through boost withdrawal over here.

Lemmy's "website"?

It's just the pullback, if it's worth something it will keep going up. I held during the GameStop pullback and made bank on its second wind a month later.
