MODERATORS
It's definitely overrated. Once you've watched a lot of anime, the cracks really start to show. You see the stitches where Hideki Anno and team cobbled together bits of Ideon, Victory Gundam, Top o Nerae/Gunbuster, and Ultraman with an additional scoop of hornyness.
That being said, it has some pretty solid animation and is pretty entertaining.
The animation was cool, I will admit!
But, I agree, it was pretty overrated for what it was.
