Its often difficult, but important, to be respectful while disagreeing. You'll find you alienate people a lot less, and win more converts if you do.
If its an outright bigoted comment tho, no need to respond: just downvote and report it, and move on.
Exactly. The vast majority of people aren't brick walls, they're literally people with their own experiences and set of knowledge. They're all going to make decisions using that set because they literally don't know what other people experience.
