This title seems a little click-baity, but the content within does add good perspective about what employees have known all along

WFH is unambiguously the future no matter how much these hogs keep dragging their feet.

From the employess perspective it is a huge prductivity and salary gain, that costs the company nothing. If you work 40 hours a week, but also spend 2 hours for your commute every day, you effectively spend 50 hours for work in a week.

So pulling the people back to office is factually a 25% work time increase and a 20% decrease on the hourly wage. Yet the company is only receiving the same 40 hours of work that can be productive for them. This has to fail in raising productivity.

I really hope that in 10 years people will look back at this and be flabbergasted by how painfully obious WFH is the better choice for everyone working in office jobs, and people could be so stupid today to pull them back into the office.

No employers will offer me a private office which is what I have at home.

I’ve invested in my home office and my monitor, mouse, keyboard, webcam are all way way better than the ones in office.

Why is this monitor not working? Why is this keyboard sticky? Why is that guy so LOUD? I’m going home

Plot twist: you are home.

yeah i honestly think that's a big part of it -- now they can't goad people with bullshit perks like 'a slightly less shitty office' that enforce a hierarchy; lower level employees won't feel as bad when they're not being demeaned in various ways. and the #1 goal of a business other than making more money forever is to allow the sycophants and psychopaths it employs to feel power and control

Same here. The equipment they use in my office is the cheapest they can possibly find. 1080p monitors, plasticky garbage mice and keyboards.
