What else are people gonna choose? Third party?

if 1 party does it unilaterally, the other party will win the next x elections very very easily. if they both do it together, I think that would be unironically very dangerous for the empire. the american left, as much as I despise ourselves, is the strongest it's been since the 60s/70s, instituting the draft would be enough of a major boon for us, that even with our dubious theoretical and organizational capacity, could begin to be a major nuisance to the ruling class (just expanding on what i mean)
